The Dodge Charger relaunched in 2006 as a four-door muscle car — same LX/LD platform as the Challenger, same 5.7 Hemi V8 (and later 6.4, then 6.2 supercharged Hellcat at 707bhp, then 797bhp Hellcat Redeye, then 807bhp Charger SRT Jailbreak). It was supposed to be a 5-year run; Dodge kept it going until 2023 — almost 18 years on the same platform. The Charger Hellcat is the four-door drag car; the Pursuit (police version) was everywhere. The 2024+ Charger is electric and a different car entirely.
