Chevrolet SS
Australian Holden Commodore with a Corvette V8. America never noticed.
The Chevrolet SS was a rebadged Australian Holden Commodore VF — built in Adelaide, shipped to America, fitted with the Corvette's 6.2L LS3 V8 making 415bhp, available with a 6-speed manual. RWD sport sedan, four real seats, magnetic ride control. It was Pontiac G8 GXP energy a few years late, and America bought a total of 12,953 of them across four years. Production ended when GM closed Holden's Australian factory in 2017. Used SS sedans (especially manuals) are now the cult sedan — clean examples are $40k+ and climbing.
