Once America's best-seller, then the rental fleet default, then dead.
The Taurus dominated the late 80s and 90s before the Camry and Accord ate its lunch. The 6th gen (2010-2019) on the D3 platform was secretly one of the better full-size sedans of its decade — particularly the SHO with its 365bhp twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 and AWD. Ford killed the Taurus in 2019 to focus entirely on SUVs and trucks. SHO models are the only Tauruses anyone wants now; everything else is rental-fleet beige. Used SHOs creeping up in value.
