Subcompact Crossover (smallest)

The Venue is Hyundai's smallest and cheapest crossover — slotted below the Kona in the US lineup. Single generation since 2020 model year. Built on Hyundai K1 platform (one of the smallest platforms in Hyundai's lineup, shared with the Hyundai i10 in some markets). Built at Hyundai Chennai, India (Venue is one of few Indian-built Hyundais sold in the US). Single powertrain: 1.6L Kappa NA I4 (121 hp / 113 lb-ft, IVT continuously variable transmission, FWD only — no AWD option). The Venue is genuinely small — about a foot shorter than Kona, basically a tall hatchback with crossover styling. Trims: SE (base ~$20k), SEL (volume — wireless CarPlay), Limited (top ~$24k — leatherette, sunroof, BlueLink, 17-inch alloys). 2023 facelift refreshed front fascia, brought updated 8-inch touchscreen with Hyundai Bluelink. Cabin: 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto. Standard Hyundai SmartSense ADAS (Forward Collision Avoidance, Lane Keeping, Driver Attention Warning). Pricing $20k-$24k — cheapest Hyundai-brand crossover available in 2026. The Venue is positioned as a city-focused, value-oriented entry — similar mission to the Nissan Kicks / Toyota Corolla Cross / Kia Seltos LX. Sales modest but steady — buyers who want crossover styling at sedan pricing. Hyundai 10/100k powertrain warranty.
