Kia Seltos
Kia's subcompact CUV. 2.0 NA (146 hp) or 1.6T (175 hp). AWD optional on all trims. Sister to Hyundai Kona.
The Seltos is Kia's subcompact crossover, slotted below the Sportage and above the (now-discontinued) Soul EV. Single generation since 2021 model year. Built on Kia's K2 platform shared with the Hyundai Kona / Kia Soul / Hyundai Venue / smaller Kia products. Built at Kia Anseong, South Korea. Two engines: 2.0L Smartstream NA I4 (146 hp / 132 lb-ft, IVT continuously variable transmission, FWD or AWD) and 1.6L turbo I4 (175 hp / 195 lb-ft, 7-speed wet DCT dual-clutch automatic, AWD-only on US-spec). Trims: LX (base), S, EX (volume), SX (turbo, top), X-Line (off-road styling — body cladding, all-terrain tires, optional 8.0-inch ground clearance lift). The X-Line trim is genuinely distinctive — Kia's response to the trend of 'rugged' subcompact-CUV styling alongside Subaru Crosstrek / Honda HR-V Sport / Mazda CX-30 etc. 2024 facelift brought refreshed front fascia, larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, and updated Kia Connect. Pricing $24k-$32k. The Seltos has been a steady seller for Kia, addressing buyers who want crossover capability with subcompact sedan-like efficiency. Kia 10/100k powertrain warranty.
