WRC homologation hero — 4G63T 2.0 turbo four, AWD with active diffs, fired through ten generations starting in 1992 but only properly sold in the UK from Evo VI onwards via Ralliart UK. Evo VI Tommi Mäkinen was the homologation halo; Evo VII brought ACD active centre diff; Evo VIII MR introduced the bi-aluminium Bilstein/Brembo upgrade; Evo IX kept 4G63T to the end with MIVEC; Evo X switched to the 4B11T and added a TC-SST twin-clutch gearbox. Evo X FQ-440 MR was the UK swansong with 446 bhp, sold in 2014. Discontinued 2016 in Japan with the Final Edition. Lifting throttle bushes, transfer case rebuilds, and 4G63T engine rebuilds are the costs of admission — but for $0-40k you have a sub-4-second AWD saloon with a WRC bloodline.
