VW's late-80s/early-90s coupe replacement for the Scirocco — Mk2 Golf underpinnings, hatchback bootlid and a pop-up rear spoiler that deployed at 45 mph. Sold with the supercharged G60, the carry-over 2.0 16v, and from 1992 the legendary VR6 — a narrow-angle six that turned the Corrado into a 140 mph GT in disguise. Build quality was the best ever from VW Wolfsburg at the time, but rust on rear arches and sills is now the dominant value-killer. A genuine 90s cult car — VR6 prices have been climbing for a decade and shows no sign of stopping.
