Toyota Corolla Cross
Corolla-derived crossover. 2.0L NA (169 hp) or 2.0L hybrid (196 hp combined). AWD optional. Built in Huntsville for the US.
The Corolla Cross is Toyota's subcompact crossover built on the TNGA-C platform shared with the Corolla sedan / hatchback / Prius. Launched 2022 model year in the US. Built at the new Mazda Toyota Manufacturing (MTM) Huntsville, Alabama plant — the joint Mazda-Toyota US plant that opened in 2021 and also builds the Mazda CX-50. Single generation. Two powertrains: 2.0L Dynamic Force NA I4 (169 hp / 151 lb-ft, CVT, FWD or AWD) and the Corolla Cross Hybrid with 2.0L hybrid + electric motors (196 hp combined system / 152 lb-ft, eCVT, AWD-only via electric rear motor — same hybrid system as RAV4 Hybrid / Prius). 0-60 in approximately 8.0 sec on hybrid AWD, 9.5 sec on 2.0L NA. EPA 42 mpg combined on hybrid — class-leading efficiency for a subcompact crossover. Trims: L (NA base), LE (NA volume), XLE (NA top), and Hybrid SE / Hybrid XSE / Hybrid Nightshade for hybrid variants. Standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 ADAS. 8-inch touchscreen (L/LE) or 10.5-inch touchscreen (XLE / Hybrid trims) with wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto. The Corolla Cross is positioned above the Toyota C-HR (which Toyota discontinued in the US after 2022) and below the RAV4 in Toyota's CUV lineup. Pricing $26k-$34k. Hybrid variants in particular have been strong sellers since launch — class-leading efficiency, AWD standard on hybrid, US-built helps with federal tax incentives where applicable.
