The Ram HD covers the 2500 (3/4-ton) and 3500 (1-ton) heavy-duty pickups. Branded Ram independently from Dodge since 2010 (Fiat-era split). Built at Saltillo, Mexico plant. Two generations as Ram-branded vehicles: 4th gen / DJ-DD (2010-2018) and 5th gen / DJ2-DD2 (2019-present). Engine roster: 6.4L HEMI gas V8 (410 hp / 429 lb-ft), and the famous Cummins 6.7L turbo-diesel I6 in three power tunes — Standard Output (370 hp / 850 lb-ft), High Output (400 hp / 1,000 lb-ft → 1,075 lb-ft post-2024), and the older 6.7L (350-385 hp depending on year). The HO 6.7L Cummins paired with the Aisin AS69RC 6-speed automatic is the heavy-duty workhorse. Best-in-class 40,000 lb gooseneck towing on dually 3500 HO. Megacab body style is unique to Ram (longest cab in HD class). 2024 facelift refreshed front fascia, brought new 14.4-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, and bumped HO Cummins to 1,075 lb-ft of torque. Trims include Tradesman (work), Big Horn / Lone Star, Laramie, Power Wagon (off-road, gas-only, 6.4L HEMI), Limited Longhorn (luxury Western theme), Limited (luxury chrome), Rebel (Power Wagon styling cues, 6.7L Cummins available).
