Mercedes-Benz EQE First Generation (2023-present)
Mid-size EV luxury sedan. AMG EQE 53 hits 650 hp. Sales disappointing — discontinuation rumored.
Single generation since 2023 on Mercedes' EVA2 (Electric Vehicle Architecture 2) platform shared with the larger EQS sedan and the EQE SUV / EQS SUV variants. Built at Bremen, Germany. Five trims: EQE 350+ (single-motor RWD, 215 kW / 288 hp / 417 lb-ft, ~308 mi EPA), EQE 350 4MATIC (dual-motor AWD, same 215 kW combined, ~265 mi EPA), EQE 500 4MATIC (dual-motor AWD, 300 kW / 402 hp / 633 lb-ft), AMG EQE 43 4MATIC (350 kW / 469 hp / 644 lb-ft), and AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ (505 kW / 617 hp / 701 lb-ft launch, 650 hp / 700 lb-ft with AMG Dynamic Plus package + Race Start). 0-60 in 3.2 sec on EQE 53 with Dynamic Plus. 90.6 kWh usable battery (96.1 kWh nominal). DC fast-charging up to 170 kW (200 kW DC peak briefly). 22 kW AC charging optional. Cabin: standard dual-display dashboard or optional MBUX Hyperscreen — 56-inch curved glass panel spanning driver display, central screen, and dedicated front-passenger screen. 'Hey Mercedes' voice assistant, AR navigation, augmented driving display. Sales have disappointed since launch — Mercedes management has publicly acknowledged EV demand below expectations, and the EQE sedan is reportedly being discontinued after 2026 with replacement coming as an electric E-Class on the new MMA platform alongside the ICE E-Class. Resale on 2023-2024 EQE has been hit hard by this uncertainty.
