Single generation since 2024. Built at GM Ramos Arizpe, Mexico under a Honda-GM joint development agreement. Underlying GM Ultium / BEV3 platform (400V architecture) — same platform as Chevy Blazer EV. Honda-GM agreement was signed in 2020 specifically to give Honda an EV market presence while Honda developed its own forthcoming Honda 0 Series dedicated EV platform (launching 2026). The Prologue and Blazer EV are mechanical sisters — same battery, same motors, same wheelbase — but with Honda exterior styling (cleaner / less aggressive than Blazer EV's lines), different interior trim options, different infotainment branding (Honda Connect on top of GM-supplied hardware), and Honda's tuning calibration applied to suspension and powertrain. 85 kWh battery (Ultium standard tier, 80 kWh usable). Three trims/configurations: EX RWD (single rear motor, 212 hp / 236 lb-ft, ~296 mi EPA range), EX AWD (dual-motor, 288 hp / 333 lb-ft combined, ~273 mi range), and Touring AWD (dual-motor with bumped front motor tune, 300 hp / 355 lb-ft combined, ~273 mi range). 0-60 in 5.9 sec on Touring AWD. DC fast-charging peak 155 kW (slower than 800V Korean rivals, on par with most Ultium products). 11.5 kW AC charging standard. Cabin: 11.3-inch touchscreen + 11-inch driver display standard mid-trim, wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, Google built-in (negotiated by Honda as part of GM platform sharing — Honda doesn't usually do Google built-in on its other vehicles), 6-speaker (EX) or Bose 12-speaker (Touring) audio. Honda Sensing 360 ADAS suite standard — more advanced than regular Honda Sensing, includes adaptive cruise with route-based learning, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic, automated emergency braking, lane keep with curve-speed reduction. Pricing $48k starting EX RWD / $58k starting Touring AWD. The Prologue qualifies for federal EV tax credit (USMCA-built, US battery sourcing where applicable). Sales reasonable but not breaking records — Honda buyers stepping out of CR-V / Pilot have been receptive but the Mexico build and Ultium platform have raised some Honda-purist concerns. Long-term, Honda has stated the Prologue will be discontinued when the Honda 0 Series 'Saloon' and 'SUV' launch (2026/2027) — making the Prologue a relatively short-life product in Honda's EV roadmap.
