Honda Civic Si / Type R
The American Civic hot variants. Si is the everyman; Type R came in 2017.
America didn't get the JDM/Euro Type R until 2017 — for years the Si was as hot as Civics got Stateside. The 8th-gen Si (2006-2011) with the K20Z3 was the last K-series Si; the 10th-gen Si (2017-2020) added a turbo. The FK8 Type R (2017-2021) was the first Type R Honda officially sold in the US, with a 2.0L turbo K20C1 making 306bhp and a six-speed manual. The FL5 (2023-) is the current one. Si is the value pick; Type R is the halo.
