Completely new RG3 platform — 19% aluminum content saving 243 lb vs predecessor, plus high-strength steel in A/B pillars and rocker panels (6% tensile strength increase). 'Athletic Elegance' design language by Luc Donckerwolke and SangYup Lee — Two-Line LED headlamps, G-Matrix Crest Grille, parabolic side surfacing. All RG3 G80s standard HTRAC AWD (no RWD-only option). Two engines: 2.5L Smartstream T-GDI I4 (300 hp / 311 lb-ft), 3.5L Smartstream T-GDI V6 (375 hp / 391 lb-ft, on Sport Prestige and Prestige Black trims). 8-speed Shiftronic automatic. Optional Electronically Controlled Suspension with Road Preview (cameras read road ahead, pre-tune dampers), Electronic Limited Slip Differential, rear-wheel steering, Genesis Adaptive Control air suspension. 2024 facelift was substantial: 27-inch OLED display replacing separate 12.3-inch digital cluster + 14.5-inch infotainment, new CCIC infotainment software (first seen on GV60 / G90), crystal shift-by-wire selector, Micro-Lens Array adaptive matrix headlights, redesigned grille pattern, hidden exhaust outlets. Electrified G80 (BEV, 2023-2025 only): 87.2 kWh battery, dual-motor AWD 365 hp combined, 282-mile EPA range, 800V architecture (10-80% in 22 minutes at 350 kW), V2L vehicle-to-load, optional solar roof, fingerprint authentication. Sold only in 7 ZEV states. Total US Electrified G80 sales: 217 units across the entire run. Discontinued August 2025. Genesis G80 Magma performance variant rumored for 2026+.
