Genesis G80
Genesis's mid-size luxury sedan. Two generations. RWD/AWD, 3.3T V6 (365 hp on Sport) then 3.5T (375 hp). Electrified G80 EV (2023-2025) discontinued.
The G80 is the brand's mid-size luxury sedan — initially launched 2017 as the rebadged Hyundai Genesis sedan when Genesis became a standalone brand, then completely redesigned 2021 onwards. 1st gen RG1 (2017-2020): essentially the second-generation Hyundai Genesis (DH) rebadged with Genesis brand identity, RWD or HTRAC AWD, 3.8L Lambda V6 (311 hp), 5.0L Tau V8 (420 hp), and from 2017 the G80 Sport with 3.3L Lambda II twin-turbo V6 (365 hp / 376 lb-ft). 2nd gen RG3 (2021-present): completely new platform with 19% aluminum content (243 lb weight saving), 'Athletic Elegance' design language with twin-line LEDs, Crest Grille. Engines: 2.5L Smartstream T-GDI I4 (300 hp), 3.5L Smartstream T-GDI V6 (375 hp / 391 lb-ft on Sport Prestige). All RG3 G80s standard AWD. Electrified G80 (battery EV, 2023-2025): dual-motor AWD 365 hp combined, 87.2 kWh battery, 282-mile EPA range, V2L vehicle-to-load, 800V architecture supporting 350 kW charging (10-80% in 22 minutes). Discontinued August 2025 after only 217 units delivered total in the US (140 in 2024, 77 in H1 2025). 2024 mid-cycle facelift introduced 27-inch OLED display (replacing separate digital cluster + infotainment), Micro-Lens Array headlights, hidden exhaust outlets, crystal shift-by-wire selector. Built at Hyundai Asan plant, Korea.
