Three generations spanning 2007-2024 in North America. Built at Ford Oakville Assembly, Ontario, Canada throughout. 1st gen U387 (2007-2014): launched 2006 as 2007 model year on Ford CD3 platform shared with Lincoln MKX. 3.5L Duratec V6 (265 hp / 250 lb-ft) standard. 6-speed automatic. FWD or AWD. 2011 mid-cycle facelift. 2nd gen (2015-2018): redesigned on Ford CD4 platform shared with Fusion / Lincoln MKX (later renamed Nautilus). 2.0L EcoBoost turbo I4 (245 hp / 275 lb-ft) base. 3.5L Duratec V6 (280 hp / 250 lb-ft) optional. 2.7L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 (315 hp / 350 lb-ft) on Edge Sport trim 2015-2018 — sport-tuned suspension, larger brakes, paddle shifters. 6-speed automatic. FWD or AWD. 3rd gen (2019-2024): Ford treated this as a major facelift of 2nd gen (no all-new platform). 2.0L EcoBoost I4 (250 hp / 275 lb-ft) with auto stop/start. 2.7L EcoBoost V6 uprated to 335 hp / 380 lb-ft on Edge ST (renamed from Edge Sport). 8-speed automatic standard from 2019 (replaced 6-speed). FWD or AWD. Edge ST: performance-focused, sport-tuned suspension, Brembo front brakes, 21-inch wheels, sport-tuned 8-speed with quicker shifts, AWD with twin-clutch torque-vectoring rear axle standard. ST-Line (2021+) appearance package added ST-spec styling without performance hardware. Trims: SE, SEL, ST-Line, Titanium (luxury flagship), ST (performance). 8-inch SYNC 3 infotainment standard, 12-inch SYNC 4 vertical-orientation touchscreen standard from 2021 (replacing 8-inch). 12-inch digital cluster optional. Wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto. Ford Co-Pilot360 ADAS standard (auto emergency braking, lane-keep, adaptive cruise). 2021 mid-cycle refresh added 12-inch screen, refreshed grille. Production ended April 2024 — Ford ended Edge production in North America to focus on Mustang Mach-E (electrified mid-size crossover). The electric Edge is now built only in China by Changan Ford for the Chinese market and global sales but no longer offered in the US/Canada. Currently used market only.
