Audi Q3 Sportback
Q3's fastback variant. MQB platform. 2.0T (228 hp) or RS Q3 Sportback (394 hp 2.5T I5). Hungarian build.
The Q3 Sportback is Audi's coupe-styled variant of the Q3 compact crossover — sharing the Q3's underpinnings but with a lower fastback roofline that sacrifices rear headroom and cargo for sportier proportions. Built on MQB platform at Audi Hungaria, Győr, Hungary. Launched 2020 model year alongside the regular Q3 redesign. Single generation (currently 2nd gen of the Q3 nameplate, but 1st gen of Sportback specifically). Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI quattro (228 hp 2.0T I4, 8-speed Tiptronic automatic, AWD-only) is the standard US trim. The performance halo RS Q3 Sportback (sold in Europe / select markets, NOT officially imported to the US during most of the production run) features the 2.5L TFSI inline-5 (394 hp / 354 lb-ft — the same engine as RS3 sedan / TT RS, with the famous 5-cylinder firing order and exhaust soundtrack), 7-speed S-tronic DCT, quattro AWD, 4.5 sec 0-60. 2024 mid-cycle update refreshed front fascia, brought updated MMI infotainment, refined cabin trim. Pricing $42k-$56k. The Q3 Sportback has had moderate US sales — Audi's least-expensive coupe-SUV, but the segment is small. Sister to the Volkswagen T-Roc R (Europe-only) and the SEAT Cupra Formentor (Europe-only).
