BMW Alpina B8 Gran Coupé
Spiritual B6 successor on the new 8 Series Gran Coupé body. 612-630 hp twin-turbo V8. xDrive only. Halo Alpina sedan.
The Alpina B8 Gran Coupé (2022-present) is the spiritual successor to the B6 Gran Coupé on the new G16 BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé body. Sold via BMW dealers in North America from 2022 model year. N63B44T4 4.4L twin-turbo V8: 612 hp / 590 lb-ft (2022) revised to 630 hp / 590 lb-ft (2024+). Eight-speed ZF 8HP automatic. xDrive AWD only — RWD never offered in any market for B8. Production at BMW Plant Dingolfing, Alpina-specific engine work at Buchloe. The B8 sits as Alpina's halo sedan in the post-B7 era — at the top of the Alpina range, it competes with the BMW M8 Gran Coupé and Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door, but with Alpina's traditional softer-than-M tuning prioritising long-distance speed and luxury. 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds, 201 mph top speed. Original list price launched ~$140,000. Production continues under BMW Alpina branding (Alpina formally renamed to BMW Alpina from 2025 as the brand is absorbed into BMW). Now establishing strong used-market footprint as the current Alpina sedan halo.
