Saab 9000
Saab 9000 — spec data and generation history.
End-of-run Saab 9000 — the original 1984 9000 was a Type 4 platform car shared with Fiat Croma, Lancia Thema and Alfa 164. 1996–1998 was the final tail-end of the run, with revised front and rear styling, the legendary Saab 2.3 turbo Aero (225 bhp) and 3.0 V6 24V engines, plus the 9000 CSE (saloon) and CD (hatch) variants. Then replaced by the 9-5 in 1997 — overlap year. The Aero is the cult car: 225 bhp from 2.3 turbo in a four-door / five-door, fully galvanised body, properly built. The last 9000s are now the cleanest survivors — values are climbing as Saab nostalgia accelerates.
