Polestar 2
Polestar 2 — spec data and generation history.
Polestar's first volume car — a Tesla Model 3 rival on Volvo's CMA platform (shared with XC40). Built in China by Geely. Launched 2020 with dual-motor 408 bhp; updated in 2023 to a single rear-motor RWD layout (272 bhp Long Range), retaining a dual-motor 421 bhp halo. Performance Pack adds Öhlins dampers, Brembos, gold seatbelts. 78 kWh battery, 350-mile WLTP range on Long Range Single Motor. Cabin is properly Volvo-grade — minimalist, Google-built infotainment (first car with Android Automotive native). Genuinely an alternative to the Model 3 — quieter, better cabin, slightly shorter range. The Performance Pack with Öhlins is the connoisseur's choice.
