Volvo XC70
Volvo XC70 — spec data and generation history.
Volvo's raised-estate — V70 with extra ride height, plastic cladding and standard AWD on most. The original soft-roader recipe alongside the Audi Allroad. Mk1 (originally V70 XC, then XC70 from 2003) was P2-platform 1997–2007. Mk2 (P3, 2007–2016) was on Ford-era EUCD; UK got D3 / D4 / D5 diesel and the T6 3.0 inline-six in petrol. Discontinued 2016, replaced by the V90 Cross Country. Cult in the right circles — dog-walkers, country vets, anyone who didn't want a full SUV. Used XC70 D5 AWD remains a sensible all-weather buy.
