Volvo's flagship saloon — single generation, 2016–2023, on the SPA platform shared with V90 estate, XC90, XC60. UK got B5/B6 mild-hybrid petrol and the T8 Twin Engine PHEV (up to 455 bhp on Polestar Engineered late cars). Diesel D4 / D5 dropped 2020 in line with Volvo's wider strategy. Cabin a quiet design statement — Sensus then Google-based Android Automotive on facelift. Discontinued 2023 with no direct successor — Volvo's strategy now electric SUV-only. The S90 is the last Volvo saloon.
