Volvo's two-door GT — built across two distinct generations. Mk1 (1996–2005) was a pillarless coupe and soft-top convertible based on the 850 platform, designed by Peter Horbury. T5 turbo and the rare T-5 R variants made it a cult choice. Mk2 (2006–2013) was the retractable-hardtop convertible only — three-piece folding roof on the P1 platform. T5 turbo was the petrol staple, D5 diesel added later. Coupe gone after Mk1; cabriolet niche enough that it has aged well. Mk1 T-5 R is the cult halo — Whiteblock 5-cyl turbo soundtrack on a coupe.
