Toyota Sequoia 3rd Gen XK80 (2023-present)
All-new GA-F platform. i-FORCE MAX hybrid V6 (437 hp) — V8 dropped. 10-speed auto. 9,000 lb towing. Capstone luxury flagship.
XK80 platform — all-new on body-on-frame GA-F platform shared with current Tundra (XK70) / Land Cruiser J300 / Lexus LX 600. Built at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas in San Antonio alongside Tundra (production transferred from Indiana). i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain standard across the entire range — 3.4L V35A-FTS twin-turbo V6 (389 hp on its own) plus a 48 hp parallel electric motor with clutch integrated between engine and 10-speed transmission, plus a 288V sealed nickel-metal-hydride battery under the rear passenger seats. 437 hp / 583 lb-ft combined — the 5.7L V8 was discontinued. 10-speed automatic. RWD or part-time 4WD with two-speed transfer case (low-range). Solid rear axle returns (vs 2nd-gen IRS) — Toyota cited improved durability and towing for 3rd gen body-on-frame architecture; uses 5-link layout with coil springs. Adaptive dampers + load-leveling rear air suspension optional. Towing 9,000 lb (22% improvement over 2nd gen). Power-folding 3rd row standard, Adjustable Cargo Shelf System with sliding 3rd-row seats. Trims: SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, Capstone (luxury flagship with semi-aniline leather, walnut wood, 14-inch touchscreen + 10-inch HUD), and 1794 Edition (Texas-heritage luxury, added 2024). TRD Pro with FOX 2.5-inch internal-bypass shocks, all-terrain tires, skid plates. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 standard. 8-inch infotainment standard or 14-inch optional, Toyota Audio Multimedia with 'Hey Toyota' voice assistant, optional 14-speaker JBL audio. With Land Cruiser's discontinuation in the US for 2022 (returned later as smaller J250 LC), the Sequoia became Toyota's flagship SUV in North America.
