Toyota 4Runner
Old-school body-on-frame SUV. The Land Cruiser you can afford.
The 5th-gen 4Runner (2010-2024) was on sale, almost unchanged, for FOURTEEN YEARS — same V6, same 5-speed automatic, same body-on-frame chassis. Toyota never updated it because they didn't need to: the 4Runner outsold its replacement promise every year. The TRD Pro variant has Fox shocks and is genuinely capable off-road. The 6th-gen 2025 4Runner finally arrived with a turbocharged 4-cylinder and a hybrid option, plus a proper redesign. Used 5th-gens are now appreciating because the old recipe is gone.
