Three Sedona generations spanning 2002-2021. 1st gen GQ (2002-2005): 3.5L Sigma V6 (195 hp / 218 lb-ft), four-speed automatic, FWD. Standard equipment included dual sliding doors, three rows of seating, modest equipment. 2nd gen VQ (2006-2014): 3.8L Lambda V6 (244 hp 2006-2010, 271 hp 2011-2014 with revised tuning), five-speed automatic 2006-2010 then six-speed 2011-2014. Substantial upgrade in refinement and equipment. Long-wheelbase variant available. 3rd gen YP (2015-2021): completely redesigned with more upscale interior, 3.3L Lambda II V6 (276 hp / 248 lb-ft), six-speed automatic. Available leather (SXL trim), power sliding doors, panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon audio. Lounge Seating package on SXL with second-row VIP seats with motorized recline. Three rows of seating throughout, capacity 7 or 8 depending on second-row config. The Sedona name was retired after 2021 model year as Kia renamed the model Carnival to align with global naming.
