Jaguar X-Type
Jaguar X-Type — spec data and generation history.

Jaguar's failed compact saloon — built on a stretched Ford Mondeo platform with AWD on the V6 petrol cars. Launched 2001 as Ford's attempt to push Jaguar volumes; widely panned for being a Mondeo in disguise. UK got 2.0 / 2.5 / 3.0 V6 petrol AWD and a 2.0 / 2.2 diesel FWD. Estate body added 2003. Discontinued 2009 with no direct replacement — Jaguar moved on to the XE in 2015. Mondeo running gear means cheap parts; AWD V6 cars now interesting as cult curiosities. Diesel FWD the volume seller.
