The G90 is Genesis's full-size luxury flagship sedan, positioned squarely against Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7 Series, and Lexus LS. Two generations across the run. 1st gen HI (2017-2022): launched as the Genesis-branded successor to the Hyundai Equus, RWD or HTRAC AWD, 3.3L Lambda II twin-turbo V6 (365 hp) standard, 5.0L Tau V8 (420 hp / 383 lb-ft) on top trims. 8-speed Shiftronic auto throughout. 2nd gen RS4 (2023-present): completely new platform shared with the 5th-gen Hyundai Sonata DN8 / G80 RG3 architecture, completely new design language by Luc Donckerwolke. 3.5L Smartstream T-GDI V6 (375 hp / 391 lb-ft) standard, with G90 E-Supercharger trim adding a 48V belt-driven electric supercharger producing 409 hp / 405 lb-ft combined. AWD standard across all RS4 G90s. Air suspension with Road Preview standard, rear-wheel steering standard. Long-wheelbase G90 Long variant adds executive rear seating. Standard equipment includes 23-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio, dual rear seat displays, full leather throughout, hands-free trunk, fingerprint authentication. 2025 added the limited-edition Prestige Black trim — blacked-out exterior with graphite finishes, black wood trim, exclusive interior color. Production at Hyundai Asan plant. The G90 is now the Genesis halo flagship while Genesis evaluates an even-larger flagship (rumored Magma-spec).
