The Maverick is Ford's compact unibody pickup truck — launched 2022 as Ford's revival of the compact pickup segment in North America. Single generation across the run. Built on Ford's C2 platform shared with Escape / Bronco Sport — unibody, not body-on-frame. Built at Ford Hermosillo, Mexico. 2.5L hybrid I4 (191 hp combined / 155 lb-ft) — Ford's volume hybrid powertrain. CVT (Power-Split eCVT). FWD standard, AWD optional from 2025 model year onwards (significant addition — initially hybrid was FWD-only at launch). 42 mpg city / 35 highway / 38 combined EPA on FWD hybrid. 2.0L EcoBoost turbo I4 (250 hp / 280 lb-ft) optional. 8-speed automatic. FWD or Advanced 4WD (with twin-clutch rear drive unit, torque-vectoring rear axle). 2,000 lb towing standard, 4,000 lb with optional 4K Tow Package (EcoBoost only). FlexBed cargo system: integrated tie-downs, slot-in dividers, 110V outlet, lockable in-bed storage. Trims: XL (base), XLT, Lariat (luxury), Tremor (off-road, 2024+ — 9.1-inch ground clearance, all-terrain tires, off-road suspension, electronic-locking rear diff, Trail Control), Lobo (street-performance trim added 2025+ — lowered suspension, 19-inch wheels, paddle shifters, exclusive Lobo Mode with twin-clutch torque-vectoring rear, 7-speed quick-shift transmission). 2024 mid-cycle refresh added 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, refreshed front fascia. SYNC 4 standard, wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto. B&O 8-speaker audio optional (Lobo standard). Co-Pilot360 ADAS standard (auto emergency braking, lane keep, adaptive cruise). 4-star NHTSA crash rating. The Maverick has been Ford's surprise sales success — currently outselling Hyundai Santa Cruz and Honda Ridgeline combined in some quarters. Named Cars.com Best Pickup Truck and Best of the Year on 2022 launch.
