Dodge Durango
Dodge's three-row body-on-frame-style SUV. WD platform. Pentastar V6, Hemi V8, R/T 392 (475 hp), and SRT Hellcat (710 hp supercharged) — America's fastest SUV.
The Durango is Dodge's three-row mid-size SUV — sister vehicle to the Jeep Grand Cherokee L (sharing the WD platform). Built on the Mercedes-derived WK platform (Grand Cherokee-shared, rear-wheel-drive based with optional AWD — distinguishes Durango from FWD-based competitors like Honda Pilot / Ford Explorer). Long single-generation 3rd-gen run (2011-present, with significant 2014 + 2021 mid-cycle refreshes). Built at Jefferson North Assembly, Detroit Michigan. 3.6L Pentastar V6 (290-295 hp) base since launch. 5.7L Hemi V8 (360 hp / 390 lb-ft) optional 2011-2024 (production ended 2024 with discontinuation of Hemi). 6.4L SRT 392 Hemi V8 (475 hp / 470 lb-ft) on R/T trim from 2018+. 6.2L Supercharged Hemi V8 (710 hp / 645 lb-ft) on SRT Hellcat trim — limited production 2021 model year (initially 2,000 units), discontinued 2022, then returned for 2023 with SRT Hellcat Jailbreak (no production cap, expanded customization options). 8-speed ZF automatic across the range. RWD or AWD. 8,700 lb towing on Hemi. 5.0-second 0-60 on SRT Hellcat — fastest SUV in America (claim from 2021 launch). Quarter mile 11.5 seconds at 119 mph on Hellcat. 7-passenger seating with 3rd row. 2014 mid-cycle refresh updated front-end styling, 8.4-inch UConnect infotainment. 2021 second mid-cycle refresh updated front fascia (more aggressive Charger-inspired grille), updated dashboard, 10.1-inch UConnect 5 infotainment. SRT 392 discontinued mid-2024 with broader Hemi discontinuation under Stellantis. Hellcat Jailbreak continued limited production 2023-2024 — final production unclear post-Hemi-discontinuation. Trims (current): SXT, GT, R/T, Citadel, SRT 392 (discontinued), SRT Hellcat Jailbreak (final). Standard 3.6L Pentastar across base trims. Currently the Durango is Dodge's sole remaining traditional SUV — Charger and Challenger discontinued for 2023, Durango carries the muscle-SUV banner alone.
