Chevrolet Corvette C8
First mid-engined Corvette. E-Ray is hybrid AWD. Z06 has flat-plane V8 LT6.
The C8 Corvette (2020-) was the most significant Corvette since the C5 — first time mid-engined in 67 years of the badge. The Stingray's 6.2 LT2 makes 495bhp and starts at $66k, which would be a Porsche Cayman GTS price for legitimate supercar performance. The Z06 (2023-) added the LT6 — naturally aspirated 5.5 V8 with a flat-plane crank revving to 8,600rpm and making 670bhp. The E-Ray (2024-) is a hybrid AWD variant. ZR1 (2025) gets a twin-turbo version of the LT6 making 1,064bhp. The C8 fundamentally repositioned the Corvette upmarket and shipped at a price that embarrassed everything else.
