Buick Park Avenue / Lucerne Park Avenue (1997-2005)
Final Park Avenue. Supercharged Ultra (240 hp) is the cult pick. FWD luxury sedan.
G-platform K-body architecture. L36 3.8L Series II V6 NA (205 hp) base; L67 supercharged 3.8L Series II V6 (240 hp / 280 lb-ft) on Park Avenue Ultra trim. 4T65E four-speed automatic. FWD only. Magnetic Ride Control optional. Standard equipment included full leather, dual-zone climate, Bose audio, traction control. 'Ultra' badge denoted the supercharged engine plus extra trim, monitor instrumentation, and revised suspension. Production at GM Detroit-Hamtramck (Hamtramck Assembly). The Park Avenue's role was the traditional 'big American luxury sedan' — comfortable ride, isolating cabin, no pretensions toward European sportiness. Replaced by Lucerne for 2006. Now affordable used; Ultras command a small premium.
