Buick LaCrosse
Buick's mid/full-size sedan across three generations. Replaced Park Avenue and Regal as the brand's main sedan. Final 3rd gen sedan was Cadillac CT6-like.
The LaCrosse was Buick's mid-to-full-size luxury sedan from 2005-2019, spanning three generations. First gen (2005-2009): W-body FWD platform shared with Pontiac Grand Prix and Chevrolet Impala — engines included 3.8L V6 (200 hp) and 3.6L V6 (240 hp). Replaced the Regal in Buick's lineup. Second gen (2010-2016): Epsilon II platform, longer and substantially more refined; 3.6L V6 (303 hp), 2.4L eAssist mild hybrid (182 hp), AWD optional with V6. Third gen (2017-2019): Super Cruise-capable refinement on the new Epsilon II long-wheelbase platform — same architecture as the contemporary Chevy Impala. 3.6L V6 (310 hp), 2.5L I4 with eAssist (194 hp). The third-gen LaCrosse was widely judged the most credible Buick flagship sedan since Park Avenue but sales were modest as the broader sedan market collapsed. Discontinued 2019 along with most North American Buick sedans. Now affordable used; second-gen Premium and third-gen Avenir trims are the most luxurious examples.
