BMW Alpina B7
BMW dealer-sold Alpina-tuned 7 Series. Three US generations across E65, F01/F02, G11/G12. 4.4L twin-turbo V8 up to 600 hp. The 'speed not sport' Alpina.
The Alpina B7 was BMW's North-American-market Alpina performance halo of the 7 Series — sold and serviced through BMW dealers from 2007 to 2022 across three generations. Unlike European Alpinas which are sold via Alpina's own dealer network, US-market Alpinas are BMW-channel-only. Each B7 generation paralleled the contemporary BMW 7 Series: E65 (2007-2008, supercharged 4.4L V8 500 hp); F01/F02 (2011-2015, twin-turbo 4.4L V8 500-540 hp); G11/G12 (2017-2022, twin-turbo 4.4L V8 600-608 hp). All cars built at BMW Plant Dingolfing alongside the regular 7 Series, with Alpina-specific engine assembly happening at Alpina's Buchloe facility in Bavaria — engines were hand-built there, then shipped back to BMW for installation. Final B7 (G12 facelift, 2020-2022) made 600 hp with a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds and an electronically delimited 205 mph top speed — the most powerful and fastest B7 ever. Discontinued for North America after 2022 model year as BMW transitioned the 7 Series to the all-new G70 platform and Alpina paused the model. Now firmly cult collector territory; the F01/F02 generation has the cheapest entry point, while G11/G12 cars retain stronger residuals.
