Acura TSX 2nd Gen (CU2)
Bigger, plusher, controversial grille. V6 from 2010, Sport Wagon from 2011 — the only Acura wagon in US history.
Larger across every dimension. Standard 2.4-litre four made 201 hp with the K24Z3 — slightly different cam profile from the previous generation, electric power steering replaced the hydraulic system (a step backwards in feel, per most reviewers). Six-speed manual still offered on the four-cylinder. From 2010, a 3.5-litre V6 (280 hp) became optional, automatic only — shared with the TL. From 2011, Acura introduced the TSX Sport Wagon (CW2), based on the European Accord Tourer — the only wagon Acura ever sold in the US. Wagon was 2.4-litre only, automatic only. Production ended in 2014 when the TLX replaced the TSX (and the TL). The 'Power Plenum' shield grille is divisive even now. Wagons are appreciating slightly given their rarity (~37,000 wagons sold across four years).
Strengths
- Wagon body is unique in Acura's history — appreciating among collectors
- V6 is genuinely smooth and quick
- Improved interior quality over first-gen
- Strong safety scores — IIHS Best Pick
- Still very reliable mechanically
Weaknesses
- Electric power steering numbed the previous gen's feel
- Power Plenum grille polarises buyers
- Heavier than predecessor by ~150 lb without much performance gain
- V6 is automatic-only (no manual option)
- Sport Wagon never offered with V6 (a missed opportunity)
Notable tech
- K24Z3 making 201 hp on 4-cylinder cars

- Electric power steering (replaced hydraulic)
- Standard backup camera from 2012

- Front strut mount knocking
- Drive belt tensioner failure
Used-market budget
$9,000
Sport Wagons command a premium ($10-15k clean) due to rarity. V6 sedans $8-12k. 2.4 sedans $5-9k. Verify Takata airbag recall has been addressed.
