Acura MDX 4th Gen (YD9)
Type S returns to MDX. 355 hp, double-wishbone front, Brembos. Acura's flagship now that the RLX is dead.
Built on an all-new light-truck platform. Double-wishbone front suspension — a first for the MDX. Standard cars use a 290-hp 3.5-litre V6 with 10-speed automatic, FWD or SH-AWD. The big news is the Type S, with a 3.0-litre turbo V6 making 355 hp and 354 lb-ft, paired with adaptive air suspension, Brembo four-piston front brakes, 21-inch wheels, exclusive Tiger Eye paint option, and a quad exhaust. The Type S is hand-finished alongside the NSX at the Performance Manufacturing Center. With the RLX killed in 2020, the MDX is now Acura's flagship. Inside, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, 12-inch digital cluster, removable center second-row seat, 16-way power seats. Reception has been good — reviewers consistently rate it among the most engaging mid-size luxury SUVs.
