Toyota Celica
Toyota Celica — spec data and generation history.
Toyota's long-running coupe nameplate - seven generations from 1970 to 2006. UK relevance focuses on T180 (1989-1993) GT-Four era, T200 (1993-1999) and the final T230 (1999-2006). T230 is the cult one for the modern era - 1.8 VVTi 140 bhp base or the screaming 1.8 VVTL-i 190 bhp lift-cam motor (2ZZ-GE) shared with the Lotus Elise 111R. Front-wheel drive, six-speed manual on the 190, sub-1100kg. Killed off in 2006 by a collapsing UK coupe market. The 190 is now a modern classic - rare, light, naturally aspirated to 8500rpm.
