The road-going 911 with motorsport DNA — high-revving NA flat-six, no turbocharging, no AWD. 996.1 GT3 (1999–2002) — first GT3, M96/76 3.6 NA, 360 bhp. 996.2 GT3 (2003–2005) — bumped to 381 bhp; Mezger flat-six (lifted from 911 GT1 / Cup). 997.1 GT3 (2007–2009) — 415 bhp; 997.1 GT3 RS lighter and racier. 997.2 GT3 (2009–2011) — 435 bhp / 444 bhp RS; 4.0 RS (493 bhp) became the homologation special. 991.1 GT3 (2014–2017) — first PDK-only GT3 (controversial), 9,000 rpm 3.8. 991.2 GT3 (2017–2019) — manual returned alongside PDK, 4.0 NA. 992.1 GT3 (2021–Present) — 9A2 Evo 4.0, 9,000 rpm; Touring spec without rear wing.
